Evidence status M3: This article describes the processes by which molecular hydrogen is brought into water and which measurements arise in doing so. It rates no device, names no brand, model or supplier, gives no buying advice and makes no statement about what happens in a body.
Electrolysis as a working principle
Evidence status M3: In electrolysis an electric current passes through water and splits it at two electrodes. Hydrogen forms at one electrode and oxygen at the other. That is a physical and chemical description of a process, not a statement about the benefit, quality or suitability of a method. How molecular hydrogen gets into water in the first place is set out in production processes in the basics article; the wider frame is given by the research context and measurements overview.
Why separating the gases is a task of its own
Evidence status M3: If both gases form in the same space, the result is a mixture. Membrane processes separate the gas compartments so that the hydrogen can be carried apart from the oxygen. Membranes differ in material and construction; this article describes the task of separation and rates no individual design. A design is therefore described as neither better nor worse, only as one technical answer to the same task.
What stays dissolved and what escapes
Evidence status M3: How much gas remains in a liquid depends on solubility, pressure, temperature and the vessel. Molecular hydrogen is a small, poorly soluble molecule: it escapes as soon as pressure falls, the liquid warms or the vessel stands open. A figure therefore always describes a state under particular conditions and not a permanent property of the water. What that means for handling is placed in what the measured value means in everyday life.
Which measurements exist and what they do not say
Evidence status M3: Figures in ppm or mg/l describe a concentration at the moment of measurement. Redox potential describes an electrochemical property of the solution and is therefore a different quantity; pH in turn describes the activity of hydrogen ions. The three numbers cannot be converted into one another, and none of them says anything about a benefit. Why pH and dissolved H₂ have to be read separately is shown in pH and dissolved H₂ as separate measures.
Device categories as categories, not as a recommendation
Evidence status M3: Technically, stationary units, bottles with their own generating element and tablets for adding to water can be distinguished as categories. They rest on different processes and differ in handling. This article places them side by side without rating them, comparing them, ranking them or describing them as suitable for a household, a situation or a person. The systematic review (2024), International Journal of Molecular Sciences describes water with added molecular hydrogen as a product category of its own. Limit: it is a review and not a primary source, and it contains no recommendation for a category or a device.
What quality could be measured against
Evidence status N: What could be checked on a technical statement is the measurement method, the moment of measurement and the documented conditions. Without those three, a figure remains a figure. Certification, patent and testing statements from individual suppliers are not verified in this article and are therefore not reproduced here; the verified basis for such a statement is missing. The question stays explicitly open and is not answered instead with manufacturer information. How acid-and-base questions relate to this technically is placed in placing acid-and-base questions technically.

All about hydrogen waterConclusion
Evidence status M3: Processes and measurements can be described soberly. A rating, a comparison or a recommendation of individual devices does not follow from that and is not made here.
