Evidence status M3: This article keeps apart three measures that are often mixed up in everyday talk: pH, redox potential and the content of dissolved molecular hydrogen. It also places the widespread lay idea of over-acidity and explicitly answers no question about tolerance or complaints.
pH measures something other than dissolved H₂
Evidence status M3: pH describes the activity of hydrogen ions in a solution. Dissolved H₂ describes the amount of a gas in that same solution.
