The slug contains gut health, but the article does not use that as a health promise. It explains how microbiome data are collected and compared, and why a change in a dataset does not establish a personal result or statement about a beverage. Evidence status M3: the focus is study methodology and limits.
Microbiome data are context-bound measurements
Evidence status M3: 16S rRNA sequencing and shotgun metagenomics capture different levels of data. The Human Microbiome Project Consortium (2012) is a primary publication on reference data for human microbial communities. It does not study molecular hydrogen or establish product use.
Which H₂ evidence is missing here
Evidence status H1: A statement about people would require an H₂ primary study with defined population, sample type, comparison group and prespecified microbiome endpoint. No such verified study is documented here. Evidence status L2: Nor is an animal or cell finding presented as a substitute for that human question.
Comparison and endpoint decide the scope
Evidence status M3: Recruitment, sample type, collection time, analytical route and comparison group determine what a dataset means. The STORMS checklist (2021) sets out this reporting context for human microbiome studies. It is not an H₂ product source.
The evidence gap is not covered over
Evidence status N: Without a suitable H₂ primary source, it remains open whether and how a particular study endpoint could be interpreted. The text therefore makes no statement about digestion, symptoms, safety, amount or use. The molecular-hydrogen pillar explains the evidence levels. Read metabolism research separately or understand laboratory and cell models.

Product information is separate from the research section: AWAKE Can and AWAKE Glass Bottle are two ready-to-drink formats containing hydrogen.

Evidence status N: Microbiome data can only be read with their model, method, comparison and endpoint. They do not establish a statement about personal use or a product.
