The Liver Complex by Annapurna Life, also called «Bitter Balance» in the shop, combines choline with two standardised plant extracts: bitter melon and broccoli sprouts. One capsule is the daily dose, and the jar holds 30 capsules for one month. Each daily dose contains 162 mg of choline. Choline contributes to the maintenance of normal liver function. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 82.5 mg of choline.
Ingredients & context
Ingredients according to the manufacturer: choline L(+)-bitartrate, bitter melon fruit extract (Momordica charantia L., standardised to 20% charantin), broccoli sprout extract (Brassica oleracea var. italica, standardised to sulforaphane), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose as coating agent (capsule shell) and silicon dioxide as anti-caking agent. Per daily dose this is 400 mg choline bitartrate (162 mg of it choline), 200 mg bitter melon extract and 100 mg broccoli sprout extract (10 mg of it sulforaphane). No health claims are authorised for bitter melon or sulforaphane. The statement on liver function rests on the choline alone.

The manufacturer refers to an independent laboratory analysis. The capsule shell is fully plant-based, and the jar is light-protective. Because of its height it is only one third full. Manufacturer notes: not suitable for children or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Store closed, cool, dry, away from light and out of the reach of young children.
