Product description

Astaxanthin is a natural carotenoid and the red pigment of the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis. Our astaxanthin is obtained from this microalga and embedded in MCT oil, which supports the absorption of the fat-soluble carotenoid.

Ingredients & classification

The softgel capsule contains astaxanthin-rich oleoresin from Haematococcus pluvialis in MCT oil; vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol) is additionally included as a natural protectant for the oil. No health claims are currently authorised for astaxanthin in the EU. We also make no statement about the vitamin E it contains, as the amount present is not declared – we therefore describe the product in terms of its composition (see "Sources").

Made in Germany, without artificial additives, lab-tested. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet.

Use & combination

Take 1 capsule daily with a fat-containing meal and plenty of water. As a fat-soluble carotenoid, astaxanthin is well absorbed together with some dietary fat.

Regulatory classification: No health claims are currently authorised for astaxanthin in the EU. The vitamin E it contains would have an authorised claim ("protection of cells from oxidative stress"), but this applies only above a certain amount – since the vitamin E content is not declared here, we deliberately make no effect claim.
